ls bottom grill help

so the other day i was on the highway and a playwood craked my botom grill half. my question is should i replace it or cut it out completley and leave it open to get that ss look what u think.

I would cut it out and replace it with something custom. I broke my upper from a small fender bender and plan on getting that gutter mesh from home depot and installing that
