Made my mind up

Well, I decided to order the black projectors, and should be recieving them around the new year. I hope I have now problems with them. If anything, I will probably just put alittle line of clear silicone around the edge to be safe. And also plan on changing out the stock H1 that they said comes with them to a set of silverstars, unless someone here knows of some better, and brighter bulbs here on the site.
Thanks again for everyones help.

The new CCFL projectors are plug and play and you do not have to wire up the halos or LED's. The older style projectors there are many "How To's" on how to wire them up.

When you get them, just make sure to remove the silica bag out from underneath the high beam lightbulb. Take it out CAREFULLY otherwise you will have little silica ***** everywhere inside the headlight. And if they do fog up, which more then likely they will, take them out and use a hairdryer to blow warm or cool air through them for a good couple of hours each to remove any condensation.

isn't the bag going to keep the moisture out. That is why it is in there right?

Wait, which style halo's are you getting? If it's the CCFL, then it's plug and play. But if it's the older style, like mine you'll have to wire them yourself.

I'm thinking of getting the new CCFL ones myself. What 'bag' are you talking about DoubleLP?

I left the bag in mine... it's stuck in there with tape... it's there to absorb moisture that gets in.

They say to tap in to your running light for the halo and leds. Are our running lights the ones in the reflector?
And lucky lellow, mine are just like yours, the older style. I do not like that new style.

Depending on what year your cobalt is will determine what your DRL's are. 05-06's are the yellow turn signal. 07's are the headlight it's self...

Mine is a 06. But if that is the case, if I tap them in there, they will blink when I use my turn signals?

The bag is a silica bag, same as the ones you get with electronics such as a amplifier or DVD player. They put them in the box to keep moisture out.

Thing is though eventually they will become saturated and not be able to absorb any more moisture. Also in the cold weather we are having here (-25C) that moisture is in the headlight, and when it hits the cold plastic it fogs right away.

That is why I took mine out and I have no more fogging issues.

It is completely hidden inside the housing. If you remove the rubber cover behind the high beam bulb, you will see it on the bottom of the housing. The use a piece of double sided tape to hold it down, but it comes out fairly easily, just make sure not to tear the bag.

Hmm... I was thoroughly disappointed when i got my black ccfl's.The one bar didnt work so I disabled the other one... The high beams (cant adjust them) are pointed oddly, and on top of all that, my one light always fogs up. Taking this bag out will stop the fogging? Seriously?

Hmmm. Well.... can anyone give me a hand then? My one headlight is foggy when it gets the least bit damp outside... so... 2 options.. wait till it isnt foggy and seal the **** out of it with silicone... or... drill holes in the back of the assembly to act as vents... what to do?

I had a foggy one, so i put compressed air in a headlight hole, and felt around till i found the hole, then just filled it with silicone. No problems since.
