Melted 1st gen Projectors

Well I somehow managed to melt the clear outer plastic in front of the high beam the other day. Any ideas on where I can get a new piece to fix it with? Other ideas for fixing?

Same thing happened to mine. The only thing I can think of to fix it is sanding them with fine grit and then wet sanding.

No I mean the plastic is distorted all the way thru because it melted so bad. It even bubbles in and out a little.

Thats prolly what I'll end up doing. Anybody got an extra right headlamp? (stock or otherwise)

Ebay is selling em for like 65 shipped. I was hoping for a little cheaper than that though, and I really don't wanna cut em off my stockers

I think mine (1st gen) are doing the same!! there a small hard layer of plastic starting to peel off the top part of the headlights. I thout might been harder on soap from a car wash or melted plastic I could not tell. This thread probably confirms it.

P.S. Running 6000k HID one week after I had projectors been close to a year now.

ur pealing the clear not melting, HIDS actually run much cooler. same thing is starting to happen to me. not the best quality. try doing a full headlight restoration.

Going back to stock is an "IDEA" for fixing the "PROBLEM" temporarily.

So how is it a "useless post"?

I have a right and left stock headlight see link in my sig. I will seperate them.

edit: the right has a small scratch on the side of the lense.

Mine are both doing that too, but I'm not really worried about that part. The plastic is actually melted all the way thru.

Good to see that its not just me having this problem, is it covered under the product warranty? I got mine from a vendor here.
