Hey guys, i'm new to the forums...

i have an silver '06 LS coupe and i was wondering if i could fit some stuff from the LT model onto my car, such as the bumper and the side mirror painted covers.

can this be done easily. i was thinking about either looking to order new or just going to a junkyard and finding a nice set. any thoughts?

 

im alomst 100% positive its basically the same exact car the only reason one is called an lt and the other is an ls is because of available options.

 

It's all the same **** unless you're going from a coupe to a sedan in which case the doors, rear bumper, and rear trunklid will not work

- hey man, on a side note, how is that shiftplus kit treating you. i think my stepdad is gonna get it for me for xmas, but he wants to know like more about it.

my car is still under warranty, so he doesnt want to void it. can the dealer know if i put quick disconnects on this kit and take it in and out if i ever had it in there. (ie. can it throw a code in the ecu)

 

i have the shiftplus to and i love it. im pretty sure u wont have to worry about it voiding the warrenty but u will wanna ask someone else about that. and the second part of ur question i think you were asking if it was easy to take out or not, and if u can tell if it was in their after u take it out, well the answer to that is yes you can take it out very easily whenver u wanna bring the car into the dealership, and no, they will never be able to tell it was in there as long as u stuff the wires back in the wire loom. they wont even think to look at them.

edit: no there will not be any codes either.

 

what is the shift plus?

 

completely interchangeable but why? they are basically the same pieces.

as for the shiftplus it is phenomenal. you will love it. It's actually better for the transmission (quicker less restricted shifts = less friction = less heat) and it will not void anything. I turn mine off when I bring it to the dealer. I forgot once and the dealer actually told me he loved how aggressive it shifted.

 

B&M Shiftplus. do a search on it and if you have an auto, i highly reccomend it.

 

my LS doesn't come with fog holes in the bumper and I eventually wanna install some fogs..therefore, I need a bumper with fog holes pre-drilled. As far as the side mirror cover plates, my LS has the flat black. Since my car is silver, I wanted to customize it a little and get the same color cover plates as my paint. I have a friend who has same color LT and he's got the colored side mirror plates and I think it looks good.

 

If you are gonna BUY a bumper the the 2.4 SS front bumper, same cost and looks better.

 

my car came with the black mirrors as well. i hated them so i bought a set of colored inserts off ebay for like $40 w/shipping. i love how they look. if you're looking to buy new, you can order them here...

i agree, i can't wait to get mine painted and on the car for the summer just have to find a back bumper now!!!

I don't understand why GM did someone the mirrors to color match and others they did in the flat black!!!!!

I will have to look for the B&M Shift kit, i need one!!!

 

Pink... definitely get the shift plus and look on ebay for the rear bumper. there is a guy that sells nothing but them and supposedely will even paint it for you... just put in cobalt ss rear bumper.

hey man...thanks alot..i have been looking for these damn things for like 2 weeks now.
how do they mount to the stock mirrors..double sided tape? some sort of adhesive? also, if i order from GM Parts Direct, its like 2 dollars more than ebay. Rather get new for 2$ more ya know. thanks alot man

also, do you have any other mods on your car, exterior wise, from the mirror covers?

Your so good to me i don't know what to say!!! Bumpers I have....My bf got me a front one from a friend who wrecked his balt, and the front one he bought from another friend.....I also have a SS wing!!!

I looked at the shift kits last night i will most likely order here in the next few days!!!!

they way they mount on there, you'll have to take the stock covers off. just take a flat head screwdriver and work your way around the cover until it pops off then just pop the new ones on there. pretty easy and such an improvement!!
btw, order from whoever. i'm just a cheap ass and decided to save two bucks haha
oh and no other exterior mods as of yet. i'm waiting 'til tax time so i can get an ss front bumper. that's the one thing i REALLY want to get
