Gm probably thought it would sell more cobalts if they went badge happy.

Maybe because GM themselves said they made a mistake when they put the SS nameplate on the NA Cobalts.

I don't mind though, it's cute when someone wants to race my SS/TC and mouth off saying they beat a ton of Cobalts and then before I'm even done 2nd gear I've pulled a couple of cars on them and they give me a WTF look and turn off. Me and a friend and maybe one other person have TCs in my town but there is a ton of NAs and a handful of SC SS'.

My favorite kill so far was when I saw a base Lancer race a SS/SC and the SC won by a couple car lengths then I caught up to them at a light and raced the SC. I pulled like 2 blocks on him by the end of it and when they caught up the high school driver had such a pissed off face and his friend had a wtf look to him. Hilarious.

Nor the 6's, in the case of that horrible auto.

If a ******* car rolls off the assembly line with an SS badge on it.. then its an SS. Plain and simple. Knock it off with the "technically its a Sport" bull ****. That was old 4 years ago. To the OP, you'll have fun with the car. It's fun to modify if that's your thing. You will also find people who wont criticize it over in the 2.4 section like myself. Ignore others on here.

It has SS badges because GM is ******* retarded that's why. SS = Super Sport. There is nothing "Super" about a 2.4 SS/NA.

It's funny though. The only ones getting butt hurt and defensive about the 2.4 SS and saying "oh it's badged as an SS means it's an SS" are the ones that own one.

Hm?? My SS NA AUTO is worth more then most SC models on this site.. I really have nothing to gain or lose by saying my car is slower. I could buy a TC right now if I wanted to, heck I could sell my Car for 12-13 and pay the difference with ease.

The only reason anyone on this site would say "oh yea that SS/NA is actually a "sport" model the SS badges are just badges, don't mind the SS on the ownership its a misprint and the manual and whatever else" is because they are insecure and they bought the car FOR the SS not because it IS an SS. Real car enthusiastic.. right? Don't think so.

I understand if you have a 5.5 0-60 second SS and you have the same badges as a 7 second 0-60 SS..it can be frustrating. But that really is just dick measuring, if you are that insecure about people excepting you for what you drive. Maybe you should look into old used Ferrari's or something with a cooler badge on it like an Audi or a Mercedes.

Guys.. this is simple..

05-06 its a 2.4L SS

08 Its a 2.4l Sport

09-11 Its a 2.2L 2LT

Its a SS get over it. What the issue is 08's putting SS badges on there car and removing the Sport Badges. Its still not a SS nor will it ever be lol. I dont care if you say.. Its the same car. It came from the factory with a sport badge. Deal with it But Prob the best cobalt i think. I wish i would have dumped my money in a 2.4L SS then my 2.2L. More power, Stronger.

Really? In the past GM put SS badges on slower cars than a 2.4.... funny the only guys attacking the 2.4 are the ones who think a cobalt deserves SS badges.

And when the SS badge was created it was created as that model had higher performance than a lesser model. Which the 2.4 does. I love the people who think the SS is a halo'd badge. Its not.

ZL1,L88,302,427 etc etc are halo'd badges.

In the purist of terms the 2.4 ss is a true SS.

Btw this is coming from a 2.4 Sport guy not a 2.4 SS guy some im not defensive over a badge I dont have.

Which is why it pains me to get rid of it, but a) it's slow and b) it breaks every week. Has been at the dealer since last weekend.

Hey I said I'm fine with the SS/NA, so when people race me they think it's an easy race then they hear the turbo spool and the BPV and go wtf.

and there's sexist jokes about men too, dick.

Thought the 2000 Z24s were quad 4's... Not ecotecs
