Correct... the 2.4 in that Cavy is an LD9... not an Ecotec. Horrible vibrations in that motor, combined with with that harsh shifting auto it feels like you're constantly on a gravel road.

Its a SS get over it. What the issue is 08's putting SS badges on there car and removing the Sport Badges. Its still not a SS nor will it ever be lol. I dont care if you say.. Its the same car. It came from the factory with a sport badge. Deal with it But Prob the best cobalt i think. I wish i would have dumped my money in a 2.4L SS then my 2.2L. More power, Stronger.
There was no 2.4 in 2005, the only 05 SS is the supercharged one.

I kinda prefer being a sport. Minus explaining that its kinda an SS but not really since people dont understand the sport badge

I don't consider 7 seconds slow (compared to a lot of cars in the same price range), the SS NA is still the third fastest model. Regardless, its a bitch that they didn't put all the lips on the NA. I still havent found a front lip.

Yeah I didn't consider my '90 Prelude or '93 Civic slow either, then I bought a fast car and realized how clouded my vision was.

That's not the thing being contested here.

Well it all seems kind of silly, people putting down the vehicle with the biggest engine because it doesn't have a turbo or supercharger and has an SS badge /: . I actually don't think there should be a debate. If it says its an SS its an SS. Whether that be a mistake by GM or not.

lol there's more differences between SS/NA's and TC's than just the engine size and forced induction.

Yea. There is no way I would take my mud flaps off lol. Just as there is no way I would get "slammed" with the pot holes and roads in Canadia.

And for what its worth the 2.4 can handle a good amount of abuse. And the automatic is technically stronger than the manual in the SS/SC's.

So yeah I guess you did waste your time

As for the whole "SPORT" thing. Sport was an 08 only badge. It does kind of suck explaining that Im an SS/NA but not an SS to people.

Find it easier to just say Im an SS/NA. I don't even bother explaining what sport means.

I definitely prefer the SS/NA/SPORT rear bumper. Like you said its simple and honestly it shows off the wider tires better.

Yes but not as much difference between an SS/SC

And half of the differences are bolt on affairs that can be had cheaply.
Hell I have a lot of the TC parts and Ive only spent 650 total for TC wheels seats and the gauge cluster. Now im short the front swaybar (not a big enough difference) The front control arms (worth it) The rear axle assembly (not worth it) And the shocks/struts (worth it)

2.4's have the same basic gen II block as the SS/TC's as well as the vvt layout. We dont have the direct injection but that isnt a bad thing as it actually makes tuning us a bit easier.

So its honestly not that bad.

Yeah and even with all your bolt-ons, go road race a TC with LSD and you'll still lose.

lol... the funniest thing about this post is you felt the need to include "with LSD".... as if limited slip is going to be the difference maker in a race between an LNF and a 2.4.

Hahaha this is too funny to read, ss's in my opinion are the higher performing car than the base car. The SS when it was first derived was the middle class car. The Z28 was the highest performer in the camaro line up and the SS was the slower model. So I think that the 2.4 cobalt has more of a right at having the SS badge than the higher performing SS/SC. Just my two cents on this issue hahaha. and "Shibito" every time I see your car on this forum I just get so jealous, lol I wish I could have a Cobra chilling next to my Camaro

Id hope so. I paid a lot less for my 2.4 than an LNF of the same year was going for.
I mean Im only missing almost 100whp.

My point is its easy enough to upgrade the 2.4 to make good power and handle well. ZZP proved that. The differences arent all that much when it comes down to it.

As far as road racing depends on the course and driver. Though the auto severely handicaps me in that kind of race. But id do better than youd think! (would still lose if both drivers were equal lol)

I said road race, that meaning turns. Several turns.

And on a really tight road course that power wont be as usable giving the 2.4 a chance.

But this is all besides the point. The point is the 2.4 is easily upgradable to near LNF specs for not that much money. the 2.4s are often over looked but are capable of putting down strong #'s stock.

LOL. That's the beauty of the SS/TC, you can. and I'm not talking some small dinky auto-x course set up in a parking lot.

Have you ever actually driven a TC or are you just an armchair racer and compare what's put on paper? I've driven a 2.4 with upgraded suspension and it handled like garbage.
