Need help modding Black ss To look like concept picture.

The reason I bought my Black SS is because i fell in love with these pictures of the concept for the car, they remind me of the car Mad Max drove.

http://www.gminsidenews.com/gallery/...album=28&pos=2

I was wondering if you guys could recommend what kits and stuff i need to purchase to make it look similar to the pictures. I realize that it wont look exactly the same but thats fne. IM mostly interested in the hood and the bottom kit.

that kit isn't available to the public... it's a 1 of a kind kit made just for the 272 concept car.
maybe in a year or so we'll see that go into aftermarket production? i really don't know. you might wanna post a thread in the vendors section, to start a petition for it to be made.
but i think thats about all the help we can give you. you aren't the first one to say they wanted that kit

The 272 Concept car (shown here at the Chicago Auto Show with me next to it!) was built in 2004 along with another widebody design for SEMA. You may not see these cars much more after this year due to the planned 2008 model year changes.

The parts on that car are completely custom. The Cobalt community has always been disappointed that nobody ever made a center exhaust outlet rear facia like that car has. People seemed to like that part the best.

The front facia is also completely custom. It has a smooth front end with no reliefs for the grill openings. It's very sexy, but again, nobody ever made it.

Wow you guys are really nice on this forum. Ive posted on other places and they are jerks. Thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll just have to mod it differently. I dont want it to look to flashy. Just wanted to replace the hood, new rims and tint the windows. I find that most kits are to flashy, i just wanted something suttle, any suggestions?

The wheels you can DEFINATELY get...or at least somewhat same looking rims...Look at some HRE wheels....I belive thye have the .... 647's or something....I dont know the model but they look very similar to those wheels. VERY pricey though.

Hood wise, you can probably make your own hood like that. I personally don't like the scoop but you can always have a shop cut out an opening and install a scoop there.

For the body kit, it probably won't go into production. The only way you will be able to look SOMEWHAT like this car is to put front/side/rear splitters on it. On the 272, it has completely different front/side/rear valances along with those splitters, but they sell universal splitters. All you have to do is cut them to fit your car.

Spoiler wise, i'm pretty sure you can find a spoiler similar looking to that one. You just have to search around.

It looks a lot like the AVS body kit that JBP sells, but I think the center exit exhaust rear bumper is OOP.

Fans my man, fans! They can move air you didn't even know you had. If you notice, a Corvette doesn't have a significant opening either, and I believe their radiator is slanted, not even facing straight. I am not sure about the C6's though.

That is NOT the AVS kit. They might be selling the AVS, but that is the 272 picture. They don't match.

Auto Vent Shade in now a part of Lund International. While their web site lists many parts for the Cobalt, most of them are actually not available. I inquired about it several months ago. Lund no longer manufacturers body kit parts. The AVS kit is more then likely not available any longer.

no that is not the part. The AVS kit is completely different. JBP just has the concept picture there for some reason. I have even called them asking for an explanation for the picture being on a part that it doesnt represent and if they planned to actually make the 272 kit and never got a response. The AVS kit actually looks like this

I have always been a big fan of the 272 concept lip kit and I may be working with a guy that claims to be able to do custom fiberglass fabrication by just looking at a picture of what you want and duplicates it. I will be talking to him this spring/summer about making me the 272 concept kit
