i had an neon tube underglow kit and it broke about a week after (glass shattered) i switched to a l.e.d kit and they have been on for a couple of months with no problems. I will say the neons were alot brighter

I have neon's under the footwells of my cobalt, I also have them under the seats so the back seat foot space lights up too and I love it. I've never used the LED tubes, but I've have my neon's in for almost a year and i've had no problems except that the one on the driver side is starting to dim and will probably need to be replaced soon.

I just ZipTie'd them in place, ran wiring to the ignition, so they won't be on unless the car is on, and that was about it. Later I put in a toggle switch in the little compartment where the trunk release is so i can turn them off and on... incase i get pulled over :P

LED's are safer. I was told by a electronic specialist for cars that neons can catch fire.

I dont know how they can catch fire, they are CCFL (Cold cathode) but i suppose if they are cheaply made it's a real possibility. Like i said, i have them all up in my car. check my gallery if you wanna see.

What color where you going to go with?
