Wet sanding will get it more "Transparent."
Use a 2000 grit paper and then buff it when your finished.
I used a whole can on my old cougar's tails and they came out flat black.
Then I wetsanded and buffed and they came out more reddish.

OK one LIGHT coat of nightshades wait 15 min, second coat a littel heaver wait 15min and depending on haw dark you want then(2 coats lightley tinted 5-6 coats black)repeat. After they are totally dry, add 2 reg. coats of clear to make them shine!! I have never sanded or wet sanded and they come out like glass every time.
i just ordered a can. i'll tell you how it goes. damn, i'm going crazy with all these little visual mods i'm working on. i gotta plug my grill so check out my latest post in "blacklight". there are some nice pics of the headlight mod in there a few posts down.
i just finished using the niteshade on my tail lights and side markers. I would def. sand it u really dont need to wet sand it just enough to scuff it up. I put three coats of it on all of my lenses waited 5 mins in between each coat. Used a heat gun to speed up the process, cus im impatient, Do clear coat the lenses about 15-20 min after ur finnaly cat brings back the shine. I got mine at www.pitstopusa.com under chemicals and then under tint and sprays. Extremly happy with the product looks sweet on my yellow ss, and pretty much benifits any color car u own.
