Oem painted headlights build

Well first off the black anzo oem headlights i have on my car look like **** right now lol

first they leaked so i sealed them up and they had water spot on the inside then the clear on the outside started to peel off so i said **** it im gonna buy a used set of oem ones and get them done custom

so i bought a pair of oem ss headlights from 05-07 cobalt for $40 used

gave them to my buddy george you paints headlights for a small fee

then i gave them to my friend mike who polishes and buffs out headlights

all together i spent $40 on lights $60 on getting them taken apart and painted and $40 on polishing/buffing them

painted glossy black

Damn they look good! I woulda had them keep them apart and you should have retrofitted them!

Okay, maybe this is a silly question, but I noticed you have the flat part at the bottom of the main reflector bowl painted as well, does that effect the light output at all? I currently have a set of headlights apart and trying to decide if that part gets painted or not.

They look good, and I like them Mike. I really do. Especially on red as you can see

But do consider retros for the next set if you ever do one. If you buy the complete kit from a reputable place such as theretrofitsource they are 100% plug and play. No wiring involved at all. Seriously, it is retros for dummies (like me!)

Gives you ALL THAT TIME to pull them apart and retrofit them.. The price of what you need for a retrofit is way cheaper than your Tjin trunk probably ran ya... just saying... And if you do any night time driving - it will be the best couple hundred dollars you'll spend on your car.
