4 would be good IMO, should cover really good. I recommend you to look at the glossifier or the pearlizer, when you do 1 coat or two of them on top of the color, it will protect the color from the dirt, easier to wash. And do it in a place without wind, and with a good spray gun.

I don't have any of the black pearl dip on hand but if you wanted to try it yourself DipYourCar sells little sample bags of each color for <$5 I think.
Then all you need is a Preval sprayer which you can get from them too for ~$10
Most expensive thing you have to buy is a gallon of clear dip but you can test like 20 colors with that much dip so I think it's worth it.

The Sazuka might be a little too loud for me haha.

And the other colors I was talking about I have pictures of in the original post.
The Sage green + black was the dark Sage a was referring to and same goes for the dark Radiant Red.
I didn't test the dark Tein but I could try it if I find some time.

This ^^^

Gloss or pearl will definitely help with washing too.
The other option is putting a couple coats of spray wax on after you've finished dipping.
Makes it look a little more glossy and helps the dip resist small scratches and abrasions that are bound to happen.

Ask and you shall receive haha. Sadly this is in my shop. The color pops so much more in the sunlight. Come spring when it sees day light I'll have better pics haha. I picked up my wheels. Can't wait to do them!

Thanks guys, I'm getting a local guy to order them for me he's sells them for a little cheaper. I ended up getting him to order 3 gallons of white and 3 cans of intense teal.

Gonna try the teal on the wheels instead of powder coating them for now. Completely forgot about glossifier... How much of that would you get?

Were gonna do it in our heated garage, one question though. We have an airgun, but my father thinks we would be better off with the Wagner sprayer, I'm all for saving money do I'm against it. Anyone use dip with a regular air gun before?

Sorry for all the questions just trying to sort this mess out

The 3 gallons of white over your dark base color might be stretch.
I just barely covered my car (white base) with 3 1/2 gallons and I didn't do the roof.
If you could, I would get 1 more gallon of white. Better safe than sorry.

I've never sprayed through a regular air gun personally, but I know it's been done.
You have to have a pretty good sized air compressor to keep up with guns like that though.
I'd say test it and see how it goes before you commit to doing it for sure.
Again, better safe than sorry. You'd hate to spend all this money and have it turn out bad, ya know?

dipyourcar boys suggest doing one or two coats of gunmetal. Really helps with coverage. One gallon is all you would need. Then you'll need a lot less white. just my $0.02...

this should help you out:

Thanks a ton, I think we'll be going this route. Could you get 2 coats of gun metal out of 1 gallon?

And we got the Wagner, 1 step closer !

You want it which color? Matte white? Or pearl white?

Look at these:
Matte White with gloss over

And this pearl white

For the Pearl, their video doesn't do justice for the real result, seen it live and it's very nicer.

It was too easy for me to do mine with the tires on. I just used index cards around the lip and it kept it off the tire. I would say the machine would probably rip some off but you never know, it might not.

Shouldn't be any harder or easier with tires on, index cards are the most common way. Id do it with the tires on though, just in case the machine does

I did mine with the wheels on the car, just put paper behind the wheels. Lol lazy way but came out fine

If you spray them with the tires off you'll peel all the dip when you go to mount the new tire.
I've heard of a couple people trying this and none have been successful as far as I know.

I prefer to dip wheels when they aren't on the car. Just use note cards in the lip of the wheel like other people have said.

Copper/Bronze would be very nice. And for me my plasti-dip didn't hold the tire change lol.
