Official Plasti Dip Thread?
And im going to now because the kick plates on the doors wont hold to plastidip they stuff and peel from feet hitting them.
Make sure you don't let it dry at all to the tape. It'll bond to the tape and come off when you peel the tape off.
no black interior balts there.. trust me, i looked before i did that.. and yes its the camera showing the smudges.. its just a nikon point and shoot.
thanks for the "ewwww" compliment
Plastidipped wheels; hood, roof and trunk are next on list. Contemplating the purchase of a pro-kit from dipyourcar.com since I've heard of inferior results using spray cans for larger areas???

Go ahead..poke fun at my dirty car lol

If youre gonna do the roof hood and trunk (which would look awesome imo, i was thinking about it) MAKE SURE you get the sprayer kit. I would NEVER redo my hood, or attempt my roof with rattle cans again. It sucks big time. The issue is that the plastidip will start to flash or dry as youre spraying it. Its very hard to keep a wet edge as your spraying it, and dry spray looks and feel rough. that and if it takes more than a few minutes to spray the area then the dip will start to cure on the tape and youll get crappy lines when you remove the tape.
^ive tried it several times on different types of parts, not only car stuff. I can never get a good thick and quick finish that im satisfied with. I the bottom lip of a pair of sneakers yesterday that were decently new but ruined because i cut the grass with them and the green stains wouldnt come out.
I spray super quick and thick and it still caught the edge coming up. the second shoe i just cut the edge with a razor and worked fine. not so much for the first.

Thanks for the heads up. Was already thinking the cans would be problematic getting a proper finish with clean lines. The stripe I have around my wheels didn't come out as good I as I hoped and I made sure to peel off the tape while the plastidip was still wet. I have a few cans leftover from where I did my wheels so figured I'd try the hood just to see.
If it looks how I've imagined, I thought about vinyl wrapping for a more long term solution.

I've definitely been thinkin about doin the whole balt Firebelly orange
my dude wants to do his Z black, so we could split the cost of the sprayer, an the Gallon's only like ~$76..
I don't wanna get 2 gallons cuz I've seen on dif sites an stuff that you only need 1 gal to paint your whole car, but I could use the extra to do the door jambs, if I mess up or watever.. but I don't want a buncha orange paint sittin around, like...wtf am I gonna do with that

I did a test(on a plastic dish plate) with plastidip and some high temp engine paint and it SUCKED to get off the plate. It still comes off but no where near as easy. I will likely just throw the plate away.
I used 4 coats plasti and about 2 high temp.
