Official Retrofit Thread
#851
I've got a question. I have been doing some snooping around and I want to do a retrofit build on my black housing headlights. I have found 2 things, and wonder if this is possible.
I want to one of these kits - https://www.theretrofitsource.com/pr...cts_id=237#rev
minus the bulbs https://www.theretrofitsource.com/pr...roducts_id=227
And combine it with this HID kit -
Exotic Red 35W Canbus EFX 9007 Xenon HID Conversion Headlight Light Kit | eBay
I want use the bulb where the low beam is red and the high beam is a halogen. It's the second light bulb when you scroll down.

Yea I mean it can be done but the output will be **** in all honesty. Morimoto is top quality lighting. Stick to the Mini H1's and get the full kit from TRS and you will be more then satisfied

yeah your probably right.. I just really like the fact of a two tone light that can be flipped from red to white.. but then again it also is illegal and I can't really afford a ticket. I'll just paint the shrouds red and call it a day.. thanks for the input.

nice work padlock. cutoff looks great!
i got my projectors mounted and lenses back on. but i have to adjust them still.i used three studs to mount the fxr to the back of my gen 1 housing and i simply made the holes biger than the studs and used washers that way i can adjust the tilt of cutoff and aim by adjusting the three studs. it works pretty good. im glad i went witht he fxr. the light output is compared to b4 is shocking.

its pretty much been pouring rain out all weekend so taking pics of them would be kinda useless, not to mention the fact my basement was under 1.5" of water FTL so picture taking during the process was the last thing on my mind
just for references sake heres a before shot I found. I'll get an after shot when the weather cooperates and we get the halos hooked up. with the crummy weather we didnt bother doing the "extra" wiring yet
