I did. Same concept. More shaving with dremel. Just an extra step. Nothing crazy. Way easier than putting in any other d2s projector.

Gatling gun 2.0 I believe. Don't be scared. Its nothing crazy to put into a cobalt.

Side note.
Going to have a pair of d2s retros for sale soon. Apollo 1.0 shrouds. They nice. Just used. One day this mobile app will allow pics. For now nothing. To lazy to hit up the bucket.

Yea I understand the concept is simple, was just wondering what a 3" projector with ground looked like in the housing

**** browsing thru hidplanet and theretrofitsource has got me once again wanting to spent a whole hell of a lot more then I ever wanted to lol, wanna get a set of those matchbox micro projectors for where the turn signal used to b and inlay a led bar in the headlights with a tinted lexan sheild over it for the turn signals and run quad projectors for high beams

here were my 3" lens FXR's when under construction (before paint) to get a size idea. quite a bit of trimming to get the Panamera shroud to fit on it in there.

also, I can concur that quads are epic.. built a set of those a while ago.. those were expensive and fun to fit into place

is it possible to use the projectors from a set of gen1's and retrofit them into a stock housing? a friend of mine has a pair he doesn't want anymore and wants to try to make some retros out of them.

first thing I thought was squeeze a projector into the turn signal reflector bowl. but I don't see that as very feasible

Plan on using the matchbox micro projectors from the retrofitsource 1.8" projectors lens bixenon capabilities
Aka high and low beams.
Plan on carbon fiber headlight bezels, required some bondo work to round out some deep crevices and make them easier to skin, gives me a perfect location to inlay some led strips for turn signals n cover with some tinted lexan to hide them when there off
