Painted valve cover. Help.

So last year I painted my vc red. Due to a rat dragging poison blocks onto the vc and hoses rubbing it it's starting to look like ****. So I'm gonna repaint it next weekend and I'm needing help deciding what color to paint it.

My car is all black with silver rims. It used to be black and red hence why I painted my valve cover red. I just don't know if I want to go back the same color or if I want to go with something else this time. I just know I don't want wrinkle black cause it's a bitch to keep clean. So any suggestions?

Ok well since yall cant name any colors, can yall answer whether or not I have to use high heat paint or if regular paint will hold up to the heat?

Would that happen with like all high heat paint? or did you just like not prep it. Apparently prepping is more important than actually painting from what I hear lol just getting as much info before trying to paint mine

oo silver metallic would look good. or polishing it. I wanted to polish mine and polish my sc but then I realized i would probably fail horribly if i tried and dont feel like paying someone else to do it.

Did you not use degreaser first? I mean when I painted mine I used a good degreaser, rubbed it down with acetone, then just hit it with paint and laid down about 3 coats and it's only peeling where a hose rubs.
