Is your car n/a? Im worried about getting a cai because I've heard and had problems in the past with it throwing codes after putting one on. But here in Texas drought season is about to start so I wont have to worry about driving through puddles much. lmao. I could always throw on a hydrosheild though.

hahaha I got an 09 SS/TC, I used to be stationed in Ft.Hood,TX I didn't worry about it(and wouldnt really worry bout it if i was yu i guess......) but as soon as I moved out of tex, on the drive up out of state actually... it rained an i got fukkkkkked up

I never liked the filter in the engine bay look either, but a SRI is way more functional, especially now since it rains every day out here :\

I wanted a cai but didnt like the idea of having the filter where I couldnt see it and be checking up on it lol

and ive only once been so ******* glad that I didnt have a full cai because of rain lol. It was flooded as **** while I was going to my gfs house and I thought for sure my car was going to get fucked since I was lowered. Other then that texas is like a desert haha

Thats right. I've asked about your car before.

My only drawback with a cai is that the fender liner under where the filter would go has been removed. I cracked it and just pulled that little section off. So water would get up in there easier.

I used regular Semi gloss paint on mine.No chipping,no bubbling,no........uhm....????(thinks to be witty).......farting!yes none! anywho. It's all in the prep.Sand/scuff,then use wax/grease remover(solvent base) then wipe with a tack cloth, primer, then base coat, clear coat(if you decide to clear it) and you are golden shmolden.Make sure to let fully cure over night though!

See thats what I was kind of thinking. I mean the boiling point of the paint is like 350 and I dont think a valve cover would get that hot. I see people doing theirs in House of Kolor paint and I dont think any of that stuff is high heat. Im just not wanting to do something that everyone else has already. I mean if one or two people have it then thats fine, but reds and blacks are done all over the place. Thats why I was thinking about some of the Duplicolor Color Shift paint. I think I've only seen a handful maybe that were done that way. I am just worried about it melting off or screwing up which I dont want. I dont want to have to repaint it every year or two.

How long has yours been painted?

I've owned the car since brand new,so 5 years. It was polished for about 5 minutes and it didn't match anything else,so it got painted and has been painted many colors lol.I'd say my favorite was Flat red.
