Painting center console
Painting center console
I was thinking about painting the center console where the arm rest is but had a question about making it smooth. Stock, the plastics have all of those bumps and **** but i was wondering how to get it so it would be smooth like where the radio pieces are. Do i have to sand down the plastic or is there like a filler like bondo or something like that i can spread over it and then sand it smooth? also, how the hell do you get that center console out? is it all just those metal clips and i just pull it out? Thanks for any input guys
Getting it out aint too hard. I did mine in my sleep practically. You have to unclip it, theyre the same clips as the dash trim, and then be sure to disconnect ur 12v outlet wires. Its just like a quick disconnect type of setup. Pull out panels and then remove the 12v outlets themselves. Paint it, then reassemble it all. Clearcoat is good to put on too cuz they can get banged up if you have change or anything in ur console. I forget how to remove the shift boot, but Im sure someone else remembers. Sorry its kinda breif but its been a while since Ive had to paint anyones'. Good luck!

sand it downand it is held on by a bunch of metal clips and a few bolt headed screws.
