passanger HID flickers on auto lights.

im pretty sure all cobalt models have the knob on the left side of the steering wheel that you can adjust your lights between auto, ambers/fogs, and low beam. if I turn it to low beam (top setting) then the light dosent flicker but when its on auto lights it does. so everytime I start my car I have to set it to low beam...

sorry if I wasnt very clear I just dont really know how to explain it.

Pull your DRL fuse or your ballasts will blow eventually.

If you don't care about the Daytime running light, just pull the DRL fuse. Your normal lowbeams will still automatically come on when it goes dark or you turn your wipers on... but you just won't have your headlights on during the day.

If you do wish to retain the DRL's, you will need to buy or create a relay harness that feeds your ballasts directly from the battery while using a remote wire that activates the relay when your headlights turn on.

The reason the HID flickers with the DRL system is because the DRLs run at a lower voltage than the actual low beam circuit does. This reduced voltage starves the ballasts of power, so what happens is the bulb exhausts the charge in the ballast faster than the ballast can store more charge to sustain the electrical arc. So what happens is the bulb uses up all the electricity, and then goes out, and then reignites once there is enough charge built back up in the ballast. This reduces the lifespan of the ignitor and bulb.
