plasti dip

guys is plasti dip good for painting my rims? i already painted them with flat black rim paint, they look ok, wondering if plastidip is betta

i would just paint them with gloss black.

i have plasti before i repainted mine gloss, looks sooo much better now. and plast dip can be a huge bitch to get off

it makes it look flat black!!! same as you got now...only diff you can peel it off if no likey anymore..but you can buy glossifier they sell it online i never seen the glossifiers in stores and it makes it shiney

yea that stuff wears off on the edges!!! no matter even if you do 5 coats

yeah that what happened to mine, so i decided to take it all off. which took atleast 2 hours for all for rims.

hmm. i honestly would like to redo them, like strip the paint all of and re do. but i dont wanna scratch the rim if i sand the **** outta it. easy way guys?

i just sanded with like 500 then 800 then 1000, i really only sanded enough to scuff it up. then primed them with 2 coats paint then cleared.


and dont forget to clean after sanding obviously haha

well mine has actual rim paint from adv auto. would sanding take that off and not scratch my rims, so when i re paint you wont see the scratch marks? honestly i want tc tims... BAD

well if you have ss/sc rims or ss/na rims when you sand it your never probly get that center polish back if your not worried about it go for it...but if you want them black for ever!! powder coat them...

so just sand the hell out of them? what sand paper do I use also (besides powder coating) what paint set up should I use.

painting wheels doesnt not work with winter snow/ice. I put at least 8+ hours into my wheels, prepping and painting, etched primer, 3-4 coats of paint 3 coats of clear. Chipped first snow storm.


Plastidip does not chip or peel unless you do it incorrect.

i guess used this, got it from autozone. i only used like a can and a half and did about 3-4 coats

ha alright im just nervous i dont wanna sand them then only some of the paint comes off then im screwed ha. or repaint and see a bunch of scrtches and scuff marks
