Possible Color Change

Ok well I have had some bad luck with people bumping into my car and I have a couple scratches that are really bothering me and I bought the car with 6000 miles on it and the previous owner did not take very good care of the paint so there are a bunch of swirls . So I have decided to paint my car but Im not sure whether or not I should change the color.

My friend does bodywork and is willing to do the paint job for free if I pay for the paint and clear. So I am really considering a new color. I mean I love black but its one of the more common colors for SS/SCs and I want to be a little different. Also black is a very difficult color to take care of and this is my DD so this car sees its fair share of bad conditions. Well now you are probably thinking to your self what color Im thinking about. Well I have decided if I change the color I am going to paint my car white

I know many people have always wanted a white SS/SC and I want to be the first one. I know that the new SS's will come in white but Im am going to do mine a bit different. Its not going to be just summit white. Im gonna be adding silver pearl into the white. Also while the car is going under for paint I will be doing a few other exterior mods. I will be painting my headlights black, tinting my tails and painting my stock wheels black.

Well id like to see what you guys think. Im open for other color opinions to. Nothing is set in stone so I can change my mind

exactly When my friend said he would do it for the cost of materials I figured what do I have to lose If I dont like it, all I have to do is pay for the materials to paint it another color.

i hate white more then anything, it reminds me of all the retired senior citizens' cars that move to florida after they'ere 75 =P unless its a certain exotic car..
Id love to see someone tackle a nice shade of green... not lime but a light forest green like the photoshoped balt in the z06 rear valance conversion thread.... that is if you want to stand out from all the ss/sc's otherwise stay black!

first pic in this thread (green color) - https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...6+rear+valance

I think white is almost as difficult as black to keep nice, so I would go with a medium gray, almost pewter type of color. Even when it's dirty, still looks clean.

in my opinion white is not NEARLY as difficult to keep up as black. Water spots FTL!

Two-tone? Maybe Black and blue, black and silver or hell even black and green

Yea... if you want to have the same colors that every rental car company uses

Grey, gold, metallic, charcoal, all the 'in between' colors that are easier to keep looking clean. Hertz car FTL

If you do paint your car, make sure you fully strip the car, take the motor out and paint EVERYTHING. I hate when people half ass paint their cars, and under the carpet, in the door jams, under the hood and in the trunk are still the original color. A FULL paint job, where they strip out your interior, trunk, remove the engine, etc etc is gonna cost ya though. But that's the only way I'd go.....cutting corners with a paintjob is a no no.

although i agree, i think its kind of unrealistic, His color is black and would look fine around the engine if he painted his car a different color. Way to much money...

I would have to vote keep it black. It goes so well with your tint. I agree, white would be sick, but an all blacked out balt you can't beat.

Agreed, do it right or don't do it at all, but white on an SS/SC would be SWEET. I'm just glad you live in Fla, i don't wanna see another sexy white cobalt running around locally, lol!!! Unless it's in NOVA, (whitessbalt)

I guess it's not always true that once you go black you never go back...

Oooh yeah

Unfourtunantly, white is the most common color for a 2.4SS up here......they're everywhere!!!! But owell, mine is the only modded example, so I'm a lot louder, lower and sexier than the stock ones......so I cope, lol.
