so which one would be better a gen 1 or gen 3 projector headlights... and when you buy them do they come with the led

Neither one is particularly better. It's a matter of preference so long as you order the legit ones and not the crappy knock offs. They come with the LEDs and Halos INSTALLED, but you need to wire them yourself and the easiest way to do that is to tap them into the power and ground for the parking lights which you can do either by soldering (pain in the ass unless you're good at it), or wire tapping. There's a how-to on it and I figured it out when at the time I had zero electrical knowledge. I have the 3rd gens, I like them quite a bit personally.

And I'm actually trading my Gen3's for probably a set of black housing stockers with 8000k HIDs. We'll see in about 2 weeks when I'm home.

 

I have the black stock style. I like them most. I'm not big on LEDs or Halos. Looks weird to me on a Cobalt. I liek retros though. Sometimes. Tell me how the HIDs look. I'm worried about the glare,

 

What glare? I have a pic on my phone that he sent me I can try to upload of the headlights themselves and the cutoff line if you want...?

Yeah, I really want HID's and I like the black stock look. I'm just hesitant about letting the projectors go.

 

Gen 4 lights or retrofits. Gen 4s have no LEDs or halos to mess with, and look cleaner. Retros provide a better light output but are way more pricey.

 

yea i had the black housing stock headlight but i crash and the insurance gave me money so i was thinking of buying some projector i was thinking of going with gen 3
