Projector/HID Installation Help
Projector/HID Installation Help
Ok so I know there are a ton of these threads on here but I'm tired of searching.
I just bought a set of Gen 3 projectors and a 4300k HID kit. I know how to swap the headlights but I need help on the wiring. So does anyone wanna tell me how to go about wiring it all up? Id really appreciate it guys.

Well I guess I wasn't really specific in what I need help with.
Where do I wire the white and black wires fot the halos and leds and where do I connect the wires from the headlight harness to the ballasts for the low beam hids?
And I bought the HID kit off Amazon.

ok ok... umm without seein your harness, I could only guess.. but the Red/black wires for the halos, you gotta tie into your parking light wires on your headlight harness(the part that plugs into the car) look for the brown wire for the red, and a negative (blk) wire for the black.
what brand was your HiD kit? an if you got any pics that'd be better

Well they wont be in until Friday at the earliest. I just don't wanna spend all weekend looking up this info. It shouldn't matter what colors the wires the wired are on the headlights. There will be a positive and negative wire for the halos, both for the leds, and a pos and neg for the ballast. I just need to know what wires from the factory harness I need to splice into.
nono... When you wire in the halos onto the headlights, it does matter the color, cuz everythings color coded.. you don't want your Halos blinking with your turn signals right? or flashing with your hibeams or nuthin..
There should be instructions that come with the HiD kit, and if not, theres a couple how-tos in the "HOW-TO" section of the forum
for HiD's and projectors

Ok so its not color cider to wire in the halos and leds. I mean you could have just said that you wire them into one of the brown wired for the drls but its cool. I found that info. The fit of these gen 3s kinda sucks but they still look better then my older worn out stockers did.
Anyway, the hids came pre wired and installed which wicked. But they were cheap as hell and went.out just about as soo. As I installed them. The ballasts were just bad. But they were basically free with the headlights so I'm not too worried about it. My high beams work and Wednesday I'm going to a local shop to buy a full new hid kit and install it. But it works out perfect cause I'm also gonna wire them with the relay and wire the ultimate high beam mod in with it. But surprisingly the cut off is really sharp from what little they did work and there wasn't much glare. So overall I'm pretty happy. I'll post pics when lots all done.

ya post some pics up man, wat temp did you go with for the HiDs? If you need anything else with HiDs or anything, hit up BuyHiDs.com or Theretofitsource.com they got some pretty good ****
I went with 4300k cause that blue tint kinda annoys me when they're oncoming so I don't wanna **** anyone else off. But I've got a local car audio place That sells hid kits so I may try them and see how their stuff is. But I got ahold of the distributor and told them that the ballasts were screwed already and he said he'd send me out a complete new kit tonight so I'm gonna see if the new one's are any good before I shell out more money since this guy is sending me them completely free. Might as well right?

Forgive the fact that I took them during the day but this is how the look. I still have to do the relay install cause I just found a good schematic for the wiring. But once I wire the main relay I'm gonna wire the ultimate highs and also wire my fogs to come on with my high beams.
I like the way the gen 3 headlights look i just bought a set for my car. i have them hooked in with the relay and all that. I put my hid in there. where your a really tight fit? because i put my right one in and turned it on and it worked. hooked up the left and that one worked but the right didnt shut i off again and neither of them worked. both bulbs are blown. i didnt touch them I was just wondering if it was because of the tight fit...
I mounted my ballasts up under the brackets that hold the headlight assembly and the headlights themselves weren't any harder to put in then the factory ones were. The only thing I noticed was that the extra connector and wires had to be positioned just right or else that would hang up. But they weren't really a tight fit.
Wrote up a how-to on this if you need some help. Doesn't have a ton of pics, but send me a PM if you get stuck.

Well the bulbs only fit one way really. And once they are on its tight to push the clip over them that's holds them in place. But if you're talking about the wires fitting behind the rubber cap the only way to do that is to cut the rubber boot and slip the wires in the hole you cut in the boot. That's really the only way. These projectors are made for H1 bulbs, not hid bulbs so there will be some modification to make them fit right. But cutting the boot is a simple mod.
