Projector retrofit help

I have looked at all the retrofit forums. I see people use E55, FX35/45, G35, and TL. I am wanting to use FX-R, has anyone used these? What projectors do y'all recommend and where did y'all get yours? I've just been looking at The Retrofit Source so far.
Thanks for any help.

He hasn't been responding to my e-mails lately. Not sure if its because his lights broke or cause he's away but you could give it a shot

I am wondering if I can use FX-R projectors but I'm also wondering when you switch to HID do you need to take out your DRL fuse?
I can't get a hold of smartdude24

DRL are the marker lights not the headlights.

Really that's strange. Every Cobalt I've seen has the marker lights as the DRL...

I would go with an E55 projector with a clear lens swap, it will perform just as well as the FX and will be easier to mount. I made a set with the TL's and probably wont do it again, these were for my own car so I went the extra mile, because you have to make your own mount that mounts into the stock headlight and then you have to make a beauty ring because without that chrome reflector bowl you can see everything inside the headlight housing. It was a pain but came out pretty good. Here is a pic of my most recent set.

Guess you have never seen an 07+ 'Balt, because thats when GM went to the reduced voltage low beams as drl's.

To the op - yes, pull the drl fuse, the lower voltage will screw your ballasts......

So I'm guessing E55s are the easiest to retrofit in, thanks

After looking at those in the link, they would be probably a little easier to mount than the E55's. They are new and made only by retrofitsource.com and come with a clear lens which is usually 50-75 dollar upgrade anyway. Those are nice, might have to get a pair.
