Projectors, I'm clueless..
So, I finally decided I want projectors, and I have searched around a lot of threads to learn some things, but I still need a few things answered.
First, where is the best place for quality 3rd gen projectors? Money isn't a problem, I want quality.
Second, how hard is it to install the HID's at a later time?
Lastly, are the 3rd gens plug and play? I don't get how to hook them up, honestly; and, I heard it was different on newer Cobalts.
Thank you to whoever can help.

i have gen 1's on my 08 SS/TC. Wasnt hard to hook up at all for me. I just had to wire up the LED's and the Halos. i think i cut them into my blinker wires. but they dont blink. lol!
and if im correct i think the h1 style bulbs that come with them also come with a harness that plugs into the stock harness. been a while since i put them in. lol!

I was gonna say the same thing.
And to the OP...eBay, best your gonna get, and I don't know much about the 3rd gens, my 1st gens I had to dremel out a spot for the HID return.
And as for plug and play, the 1st gens need some basic wiring know how.

I could almost assume it's from the same company who makes them, just different distributor, and yes a few sells them, I would trust a vendor here more, better backed warranty.

Yeah I want a warranty for sure. I can't afford HID's at the moment but I definitely want the projectors now. I just haven't a single clue on how to wire that stuff. I'm, uh, electrically challenged?

I was hoping it was just plug and play, but **** no, it always has to be harder. Lol.

I have HIDs in my 1st gen projectors. First, make sure you get the RIGHT HIDs for your projectors...also, be sure they have a DRL harness attached(to make sure they dont flicker)...3bspec is the vendor I got my HIDs from....6000K are what I have (cool blue).
I dunno about vendors for my projectors, cause I got them offa ebay (2 years ago - young and dumb
). Wiring in the HIDs can be tricky, because you have squeeze them into the socket that held your LEDs. Just read up on HIDs in projectors on css.net. Then you are good to go..

^This. You keep the quality of the OEM housings and also get the quality and better light output it a OEM projector.
And 3rd gen quality wont change, they all come from the same manufacture and then get distributed from vendors. You only pay more from who your buying them from not quality. I got mine of ebay for $125.

The OEMs are way better quality then any aftermarket housings. A/M ones are cheap flexible plastic.
I love my 3rd gens (I believe they are manufactured by SONAR) . They are a pain to aim, but it only took me an hour to aim both and they're perfect now. Just have to be methodical about it.
The clear coat is peeling on them now (I am the third owner of these lights, so it's understandable), but that's a pretty easy fix.
All halos and LEDs still work, and wiring them up is no harder than any other lights.
I got HID kits from www.vvme.com, and they're awesome. Super easy to install, just make sure you get a relay harness and not plug and play. I used them for a week or two without the relay and one of the lights would rarely ignite, so I really recommend the relay harness.
All in all, I have no complaints about the third gens, but maybe I'm just lucky. lol

So i got my 3rd gens with hids installed and anit glare mod already done and the ballast all wired up. im electrically stupid so here is my question. I have 6 bare wires on each projector. 1 white 2 red and 3 black. I want the halo's and leds to work with parking lights and not have to have low beams on for them to be on. How do i go about wiring these?
