Rear SS Lip

Will the rear SS/SC lip fit a 4 door cobalt? I upgraded to the SS exhaust setup now my exhaust tip hangs lower and looks kind of awkward on my car. With the lip from the SS I think itd make my rear end look just right.

Edit: (pics in post #18)

Well I know the SS rear bumper won't fit a 4 door.. so I guess I'm out of luck? I'd pick up the RK sport rear valance, but I don't like the fact that it has 2 exhaust cut outs while I'l only going to have 1 in use.

Anyone have a decent picture of the 2.4 SS rear? Preferably the sedan but coupe images will work as well. I've tried searching these boards and google but I just can't seem to find one.

2.4 ss bumper is the same as a 2.0 rear bumper? 2.0 jsut adds a lip to the 2.4 bumper

Try the G5 rear lip. Im going to change to that as soon as I find out if it will fit the Cobalt rear bumper.

2.4 SS rear bumper isn't the same as the SS/SC rear bumper.

I can provide y'all with some pics of what the SS/SC bumper looks like under the lip (courtesy of my being rear ended). Check my "Rear Ended!" thread in Member's Rides for a few shots. I'll post more if you want.

The SS/SC rear has slots cut in it and some screw tabs on the bottom for the lip to mount too. I don't know anything about how the G5/Pursuit lip mounts up... but I'd bet it uses the SS/SC rear bumper and is just a different lip.

The 2.4 has a special plastic mesh section that hangs down from the bumper. I don't think that it would mount to a LS/LT bumper either... but it'd be cool to line a LS/LT 2.4 and SS/SC up side by side and see the differences.

Tje G5 uses the 4 door tail lights on the coupe. Its not the same rear bumper but Im hopeing GM used the same slot patern whne they made it. It is sloted like the Cobalt is. Just dont know if it will line up or not.

is it just me, or is the G5 "lip" not a lip at all. looks to me like its just part of the bumper and is designed to look like an attached lip by having that raised line. basically it looks like a one piece bumper with a raised groove around it.

You would think it is part of the bumper, but the lines are so good it blends in perfectly.the g5 rear lip is actually lower than the ss/na hiding more of the underneath of the car

I know the issue you have...

the SS exhaust "droops" after the muffler to the tip... so it can clear the lower bumper...

LS/LT exhaust is straight....

Exactly!

Sorry for the dirt, my car is usually CLEAN.

All I want to do is close that gap, whether that means a lip, new bumper, etc.. how do I close that gap?

But really he does not need the bumper just the lip, and it will work on all models

The easiest and cheapest way would be to go to a muffler shop... have them cut off the "drooping" tip and putting on a new, straight one.
