The suede is not my taste, but I must say it looks like you've done an amazing job at it!

Thanks guys. I spent a lot of time on the door panels. You just have to be very patient, because if your are not it will get screwed up. The headliner I did in 3 hours (first time too), once you start doing it, it becomes easy.

Yeah the steering wheel is next, but i'm afraid the airbag will go off haha

 

Why is the Mirror on the drivers side on the wrong side of the visor...

 

I like it...but there is one thing....How the hell did you do the doors?!?! I need a how to including the stiching and all that jazz!!!. I painted my doors black but the paint rubs easily. So I am def contemplating trying this

 

haha yeah, i found out when i was posting the pictures, haha but i fixed it

yeah dude, it was tough, but what you do is:
-Cut the shape of the door
-Cut where you want the stitching
-Stitch it
-Once you have the layout you will need foam adhesive
-Oh one other thing, it can't be any ordinary thin suede, you will need a thick suede from any fabrics store
-If you have any problems with cuts you want to hide, just cut a piece of suede and foam it on top of it.
It can be very messy and if you get that foam stuff on you fingers, be careful not to get it on the suede

I tried the painted look too, but i wanted a little something more custom. But what I found out through many errors is that you really need to sand and layer the **** out of it (6-7 layers), as well as clear coating it to the max (4-5 layers)

 

ok sweet thanks. yeah with the paint i only did one layer of each so yeah. but one more question...you formed 1 piece over the entire door or multiple ones for this area? even in the little holder area at the bottom? If so damn that must have been a pain

 

yeah i also put some in the holder area. But to answer your other question, yes it one whole piece, but make sure you get enough suede because when applying it you will find that your suede will run out on from the sides. Oh and also make sure you stretch the suede to get rid of any pinching of the fabric

and you will have to make some cuts from the 1 piece

Interesting, like the idea, just not a giant fan of the fabric. I'm going to have all my interior plastics wrapped in high quality vinyl (looks and feels like leather). I was going to do it myself but all the stitching and professional look I want is too much work for my lazy self lol. Just waiting for another dash to arrive and its going to the custom upholstery place... Props for DIY and being unique
