removing headlight haze question
removing headlight haze question
This isn't really a cobalt question per se but a general car question. My beater car has hazed head lights. You know from years of sitting outside and they get what looks like a yellow film on them.
Anyway, I saw on TV an advertisement for the mothers power ball (I think that's what it's called) and it said it could remove headlight hazing. Does anyone know if that's true or not? If not do you have any suggestions on how to do it?
Thanks in advance guys.

I've seen that add too... Flitz isn't it?
My dad said they used to use that stuff on his old airplane to get out oxidation in the fiberglass...
from what I remember he said just be prepared for a lot of work.
it might be cheaper to just find a set of headlights in a junk yard or e-bay?

Just get some fine rubbing compound, like 3000 or so, that takes that oxidation off easy.
Unless the headlight leaks and the oxidation is on the inside. My friends Focus did that. We took the headlight apart and cleaned it and sealed it back up so it doesn't leak anymore.
I saw a little kit at advanced auto parts yesterday when I went to get a add a circuit, it said it takes that stuff off easy. I've never tried it though.

Check out this thread I made about fixing chipping on ebay projectors it can also fix your oxidation(scientific word for hazing
) issue. Its a little more in depth then just using a powerball but the results will last longer. If the oxidation is inside the healidhgt then your going to need to remove the lenses and do it on the inside.

I've used the Meguire platix on a old neon i used to have and it worked well and I applied it with just an aplication pad and buffed it with a microfibre cloth.
