Okay, I think I am starting to understand all the terms used with HID lights etc....

I am looking at the BuyHID group buy for the Morimoto Retrofit kit. If I understand correctly, this is the correct way to convert my stock headlights to HID. In the future I will want to go with new headlights, like:

Would my Retrofit kit from the group buy fit into these headlights without having to cut stuff up?

 

No, The Morimoto Stage 3 Kits go into your stock headlights. You would have to do alot of cutting to make them work in that setup. honestly all Projectors suck. There quality is terrible.

If you have a little patience you can make anything work. Retrofitting the aftermarket lights is entirely possible, a bit time consuming but very possible.

 

Gen 4s are completely different then gen 1 in terms of how there built.

 

Yes, but the principle is the same. You're still taking things apart and changing things around, when you think about it it's not all that different no matter what gen lights you're talking about. Using stock lights is obviously easier, depending on the equipment purchased.
