Roof swap with sunroof?

I have an ls which doesn't have a sunroof. If I found one with a sunroof in a junkyard, is it possible to simply swap roofs, headliner, and wiring?

Or do the windshields have to come out?

it's nowhere near simple. The roof is tack welded in.

To weld in a new roof you need to remove the front windshield and rear window. The simplest way to go is to get an aftermarket sunroof, it'll be cheaper in the long run. Even if you get one of the more expensive ones. By the time you remove the windows, remove the roof, weld in your new roof with the sunroof, paint the roof, reinstall the windows, and wire it all you to work, I would bet you would be in the $5-6k area if not more.

aftermarket sunroofs are $1000 at the local shop i use. Pretty good deal, its exactly like oem. One touch open/close, tilt as well and a sunshade if you want it.

Ouch, didn't know it was in there like that. I know some cars you can just take them off and replace with cf ones etc.

I'll just go with an aftermarket once I get the cash. Thanks.
