Sap

Short:

I have some solidified sap on the hood of my slobalt. Anyone have any good product recommendations and/or methods on how to remove it?

Long:

My driveway is lined with pine trees. I'm used to getting sap on my car when I leave it out, but I usually catch it in time to remove it when it's still sticky with some simple bug/sap remover from the local autozone. Problem is I must have missed some and let it sit for too long - now I have a nasty splotch of rock hard sap that I can't get off with the bug/sap remover. Chipping at it doesn't seem too helpful either. Any one have similar problems? What's the best way to get it off? Thanks for the help!!

Go to a professional detailer! I had the same problem. I took mine to my dealer. Cost me $100 (but I had about 80 sap spots) Figure it was decent deal due to the amount they had to remove. And that way if they screwed up, it wasn't me =)

Hmm...maybe I'll do that next time I take her in for an oil change, but that's a ways away. Anything I could do in the mean time? Would gasoline get that shiz off?

I bought this stuff from Mr. Clean. Its Bug and Tar remover in a little bottle with a rubber "Scraper" on one end. I had a few mystery spots on my car and it took car of em' pretty well.

Use a claybar. That's what I do.
