Scratches!
Well im sorry to say that my victory red ss/sc is covered with those little hairline scratches you can only see in the light. It looks like my whole car is covered in a huge spider web. You guys know what im talking about. Any ideas on what causes them and how to get them out. I tried scratch-x and the nu-finish scratch doctor. Nothing gets rid of them! I hate them,.....help!
Start by reading www.autopia.org about 30 times.
Then...dump about $500 into really good washing/polishing/waxing supplies.
The little scratches are caused by your washing and drying process / technique. You need to get a good foam gun, about 4 chenelle wash mits, 2 wash buckets, a HIGH LUBRICITY car wash, a number of microfiber drying towels (Waffle weave), a number of microfiber polishing/buffing towels, and good quality foam applicators (for applying sealant and wax)...thats to start.
If you want to get rid of the little scratches, you will need to polish them out with an abrasive polish / swirl remover. Another otion is to use glaze to fill them in before you apply your sealant/wax - glazing is not a permanent solution..but it will do if your are not comfortable with abrasive polishing. A good glaze is Klearkote Red Moose Glaze or Vanilla Moose Glaze.
Hope this helps!
