What would you do...

As some of you may know, I just received my Cobalt SS S/C last night. Let me say I love the car, but I am a little pissed off. When we received the vehicle, we have guys that look over the vehicles to make sure there is no damage/scratches.

They told me the vehicle was ok, but I was showing someone my vehicle while it was still at the dealership and they noticed a scratch on the bottom left corner, on the lip right by the exhaust. Its not a bad scratch, but still. I understand over time this will probably happen, but it just ticks me off that I hadn't even taken it home yet and there was already a scratch. My father, who is also the Service Manager at the dealership said that it is not worth touching up since over time, the touch up paint will fade differently than the factory paint. It's in an area that most people probably not notice, but its not the point.

Then, when one of our salesmen was going over the XM controls, he pointed out that earlier that day he had noticed there was another scratch on the interior. It's on the right side of the trim around the radio. I can't see it from the drivers side, but he said it's probably not worth it to replace the whole trim for such a small nick.

I am very picky with my vehicles. It bothers me just knowing its there even though I cant see it while I'm driving. Has anyone ordered a vehicle and it came in with damage on it? Or if not, what would you do if you were in my position? I'm thinking about letting it go, but it still erks me that I hadn't even taken it home n there was 2 scratches on it. Maybe I'm just picky, but that car is like my baby, I'm sure ya'll know how I feel.

I will be posting pics once the weather out here stops being so crappy. It's complete fog cover and misting all day.

Have it fixed or get them to drop the price a little. Your paying for a brand new car so that is what you should get. I agree that these things will happen in time, but this is now and your car should be mint. I have a mark on my interior in the same place that you do. I didn't notice it until after I brought the car home though. By then it was too late.

I had many factory defects in the paints of my cobalt such as bubbles in various places....also from them taking it to detail....when it came back i noticed minor scratches under the front dam......they set up an apoointment and had every panel which was not right re-sprayed...

Mine was scratched in numerous places because it was the showroom car. They told me they would clean it all up and make sure there were NO scraches. Four days later they say my car is ready to pick but there is one problem he says "some of the scratches we couldnt take off, so you can leave it a little longer and we can fix it" I was like "and not have my car for like a week?" Hells no. So I go pick up the car and the WHOLE thing has buff scratches everywhere you can possibly look so I was pissed (but didnt show it) I just said ok.. "Why are there more scratches on my car?" like wtf? I told the sales I would like him to tint my windows free of charge so that I would forget about all the scratches. He comes back and says "no, we can't do that because fixing the scratches would cost cheaper than the tint. Then I was discusted. I go to my friends shop and completley wax and buff the car properly and ALL the scratches come off with a little wet sand on one of them. I go back to the dealer and ask the manager to come see my car. "I was here 2 hours ago and now im back" "look at my car" ALL the scratches are gone. I told him when my car is here dont let some stupid kid wash it.

You are really going to be upset when all of the paint starts chipping off the panel where your rocker switches for your windows are. And when your leather starts to pull away from the pass side rocker panel area. I have seen 5 ss/sc's and all 5 of them had this problem.
