Shaving my Balt

Hey guys im pretty new here,
My 09 SS has a high rise spoiler. I stopped at a body shop in my area for a quote to have my spoiler removed.

The owner said that if I let him have my huge wing that he would weld, fill and paint my trunk for no money, plus give me a loaner for the day that he's working on it.

I guess one of his RX8 buddies wants a spoiler just like the Balts.

Do you think this is a good deal?

go to a different body shop and see what they quote you for the same work that he would do...for free.

so, whatever they quote you~about what he's buying your wing for

Seems like a good deal fill in holes and paint it for the spoiler no money require sounds like a steal. But then again what if he does a shitty job?

Why the hell is it that everywhere I go they all say that it will rust through. Or the welding will cause the metal to buckle or some **** like that? I want my friggin wing off!

yeah u can get a wing for 150 or a new trunk lid with no holes (hard to find a trade) or pay like 200 for the holes to be filled but if u dont want it go ahead and trade

Shaved spoiler and badges

Left the turbocharged badge
my goal was not to draw attention to myself by either cops or wannabe import drivers that want to race me at every light.

Well it has been said but they don't know how to weld good obviously, most pros TIG weld it very slowly as to not warp the trunk then bondo, paint, finish.....shop around a bit and ask them how they would do it, the way I explained is the most professional way to do it.

holes were welded nicely. couple of imperfections, but im very happy. Didnt have to reach into my wallet to shell out a few hundred, then have to find a buyer for the spoiler.
