Arrow Shift knob on an 06 Cobalt SS

I just ordered a shift knob without doing my research like a noob! Is the stock knob on the 06 a glue on or screw on?

The one I ordered is - eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I hope this isnt going to turn into a catastrophe lol

Number 1 - which SS?

If it's supercharged, it's pressed on, not threaded. You'd have to go aftermarket STS to use a threaded knob, don't they come in different diameters too? Not sure. I can't open up ebay at work. Does that knob work with reverse lockout? Worst case I can think of you have to grind off the threads, glue it on, and cut the guide for reverse lockout.

If you're an SS/NA, um, dunno on that one.

Yea its supercharged. It doesn't say it works with Reverse Lockout - its a univeral so I'd say it doesn't. I'd be OK with doing some grinding/dremel of the hole to get rid of the threads. Unsure of the cutting of the guide you refer to. Any pics/elaboration on that? Thx for the help

when i replaced my stock knob with another stock one, i basically took a clamp to it and twist/pulled it off. complete pain in the ass but i did it lol.

it left the reverse lockout behind which is good. so as long as you can leave some space bewteen the new knob and the reverse lockout your should be good. and yea theres no threading on the stock 'bar' it goes on so your probly gonna have to glue it on or something

I replaced my stock shifter and took out the reverse lever. I used the stock boot and it matched right up.

I'll see if I can find a picture.

Search on here for reverse lockout delete. A lot of people have done it. I kept mine when I got the Hurst, but I never took pictures with everything torn apart.
