Should I Sell CF SS Hood?
Should I Sell CF SS Hood?
Alright. I'm starting to like the racing stripes that cover the whole car (not the vinyl **** that only goes up to the hood to the trunk lid). Now, I already have a CF SS hood and well, it wouldn't look nice with two black stripes on my car but not on the hood. Should I sell the CF hood and get the stripes or leave the CF hood on and forget about the stripes?

Another idea might be to paint the hood and do stripes but have them mask off on the stripes on the hood before they paint it yellow. then on the hood you'd have 2 carbon fiber stripes. That might look tight.

if you do that, and you ever decide to ditch the stripes idea, wouldn't you always be left with a CF hood that has 2 stripes on it?
I would keep the CF hood and forget the stripes. Because a CF purchase is soon for me, which is the only reason I don't have 2 white stripes.

not to hijack but i like the cf stripe iudea... get a CF trunk and do it too, u can even get the rest of your stripes to look CF.... some places make high quality cf stripes that look amazing i forgot the sites,. google it... but my off topic part was thant im molding a CF scoop into my hood so it looks like my whole hood ius just painted CF but the scoop shows cf
Here is a great idea! CF hoods look great but that is not the purpose. CF is a lightweight matterial and is used to shed pounds from your car. Contrary to what RICERS will tell you, it is OK to paint a CF hood. If you are doing it for looks then get rid of the CF hood anyway because you obviously purchased it for the wrong reasons. if you didn't do it for weight then you should have spend 600 bucks less for the self adhesive CF hood decal they sell on ebay for $99. CF IS A PERFORMANCE UPGRADE. If it were mine and i had the slightest desire to paint the CF hood i would do it because again i would not be interested it showing off the cool CF weave but rather loose the weight.
Sumary: CF for looks = RICE!!!
CF for weight = COOL!!!
Just another thought, google some info on real performace cars check out the upgrades done to the vehicle, and tell me if they are painted or not. If I am wrong about this let me know. I won't appologize however i will show you what i am talking about. Check out a picture of a Mclaren F1 and tell me if if you can see any CF weave on the body. You wont because Mclaren uses CF for performance and then paints the car whatever color it is.

well I'm not going to vote since I have another idea. Since I've seen your car in person, I think it would look great if you got the carbon fiber hood painted but left the stripes unpainted (revealing the carbon fiber) you could still do the stripes the whole length of the car also
