It's pretty dumb. But if people are going to put HID's in stock housing I prefer they do it this way.

Looks awesome... hoping for similar output with the Morimoto Mini's and 5000k. Despite the output, I like the color of my 6000k too much to go down to 4300k.

My plan is to have the Mini H1's in the low beam spot and the stock gen 3 projectors in the high spot with a halogen bulb. My low beams will just be the Mini low beam, and my high beams will be the high beam of the Mini + the inner halogen projector. Should be crazy bright if I can make it work, but I don't know if there's room inside the headlight for 2 projectors.

Yeah it is completely unnecessary. I just don't remember seeing anyone here with quads and I'll have an extra set of projectors so I might as well try it since I have to take the headlights apart anyway.

The guy with the ZZP kit has it backwards lol. HIDs are the lows and tiny halogen bulb is the highs. I remember messing with the ZZP kit. It had to be rewired to work correctly.

So if I wanna save a little money can I just use BuyHIDs.com bulb and ballast in my stock housing or is it gonna blind people and are they gonna flash me all the time?

I dont wanna be "that" guy you know what I mean?

Or

Is it wise to just put out the $500 for retrofits and HID's

I'm sure buyhids is good perhaps even the best, but their price is half a grand, seems too high for me. But if I must then I must I guess

Cool, then I'll just buy HID kit from buyhids.com and forget about retrofits, too damn expensive anyway. Thanks for the help.

oh come on lol, not only for the great projection that the retrofit has to offer, but i just love the look of the retrofits so much that dropping 500 on headlights was not one bit of trouble lol

There's also the route of gen 3 or 4 headlights + an HID kit... that's projectors + HID's for under $250. It's a good way to start, then you can upgrade the projectors like I'm doing now. So for under $450 I have TWO sets of projectors, (one of which is the Morimoto Mini) two sets of HID's, my stock headlights are untouched, and the setup will (IMO) look better than a stock retrofit to boot.

idk how the gen 4's are, but IMO the gen 3's arnt that good for light output and cut off. ive heard so many good things about retros. hence why i ordered my set and hopefully they are in the mail
