I have it. Inserted a small piece of a wooden dowel.

 

 

How does the adaptor stay on the shaft?

 

The hex screw it comes with. Screws into the stock spot

 

Did you use the sleeve that comes with the kit or did you just screw the hex key into the adaptor that the knob is on. I ask because that seems too big

 

Yes. You have to use the sleeve of it won't slide up and down

I just got a new shift knobfor my 07 ss auto and had to destroy the stock one to get the little plastic piece that pushes the button dowm on the automatic transmission just so i could use it but i thought i should get a plastic or metal dowell. So what size you end it using?

 

whatever size would fit in there
