Skidplates
Lowered with an RK Lip kit, and there is nothing I hate more than pulling into a parking lot somewhere and hearing " Skrrrrrrrrrrccchhh" as the lip drags the ground. So I decided to put a stop to this, since I have access to a full fabrication shop at college.
I got some .040 Stainless Steel, 1/2 hardness plate at college. And I designed and fabricated up a set of skidplates for the front lip of my car. Why? Because Pittsburgh roads suck. I'm tired of hitting the lip at clearings or parkinglots. Now the skidplates will take the abuse, not the polyurathane. And its stainless steel: wont rust and i doubt it will ever wear through.

Here's the Setup, each side has a plate, and then a 2x2" backing tab on the inside of the skirt for force dissipation. It has a 10-32 Countersunk bolt running thru with a locknut.

And Installed....

You just see a flash of these from outside the car. its sick.

Kickass man! Way to take the initiative to have and idea and follow through on it. I might have to look into doing something like this, I'm stock height and the roads up here in NE Ohio are so bad I scrape everywhere.
