So i have an idea...

So im stuck between choosing the black projectors and the chrome projectors. I like the chrome because it gives it that nice clean look to it , but i want the color balck. The idea is ..if i was to buy the chrome, is there a way to paint them black to keep that shine? I want that gunmetal black chrome look.

You could always buy the black ones and put clear coat on them. That might give you the look you're going for.

Umm..to be honest...not too sure. The other thing I just thought of is to buy the chrome, paint them black with a high gloss black paint, and then clear coat them.

Buy the chrome ones, then use NightShade on them, like when tinting tails. That should give you a black chrome look.

Most people just stuff them in an oven to soften up the glue, but I've never done it personally.

Search the How To's.

There is even a guy on here that paints housings. All you do is send him your headlight housings and he paints them. You could probably put in a special order. He does really good work, never heard one bad compliment about his work.

just bake them in the oven on 200 for 15 minutes...they pull right apart
just make sure to get ALL the glue off the housing and lens before putting more on there

Notice he said 15 minutes. I would leave them until it becomes loose, like the sealant part.

No, they dont melt unless if you leave them in there for an hour or more under 500 degrees of heat. There supposed to stand up to the elements such as heat. I mean you leave your car in the sun for long periods of time right?

Just dont bake them for more than 10-15 minutes IMO.

Actually, if you check ebay, they now sell chrome housing projectors with smoke tinted lenses. Might be exactly what you are looking for. Give it a look.
