Spoiler question

Ok, so I just picked up a 2010 Cobalt SS and had some questions about the spoiler. Does anyone else find it hard to see? It's pretty tall and not sure if it's safe.

Also, I understand the car is FWD, so shouldn't the spoiler be further forward or would that make it even harder to see?

It's perfectly safe. Remove it if you dont like it.

I use my side mirrors for everything, so the wing does not affect me one bit.

There have been sources that state that it is functional, some still disagree though. Either way I don't find it hard to see out the back- plus it blocks headlights at night.

I agree about blocking headlights at night.

For the rear vision thing you just learn to live with it. Best tip for when backing into a parking spot is look at the reflection of your car in the one beside you to judge distance.

I put a back up camera on mine though I dont have a picture handy. Ill post it later.

well, I guess I'll just try to get used it then. The rear one doesn't really bother me as much as the front.

wings are actually meant for aerodynamics rather than down force like a spoiler

This spoiler is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love aerodynamics.

LOL, just my way of saying hi. I did pick up a 2010 SS that seems to run pretty good though.

34k miles and stock except for a bit of misc painted parts. Still trying to sort through the to-do list.

Trying to figure out if anything was fixed in the 2010 that doesn't need to be fixed. Do the mounts still need replaced to prevent wheel hop? Still need to catch or reclaim the crud off the turbo?

I'm sure I'll be around.

Funny guy
Some things were fixed like no porous block issues and rear brakes seem better but if you have a bolted and tuned lnf Powell mounts are a good idea and unless you like cleaning intake valves his pvc oil seperator setup thing looks to be a good idea

That was referring to my earlier post that I was going to post a pic of it. It's hooked up to my Kenwood head unit.

I just bought his Oil separator looks to be a real quality piece.

So, I read some things on mounts...

"stiffness can cause normal engine vibrations to look like knock to the knock sensor, causing a false knock signal. When the PCM sees knock, it will pull timing until it goes away "

So are the Powell Mounts not going to cause this?
