SS/NA Rim Care?
SS/NA Rim Care?
So I picked up a brand new set of SS/NA rims at my tire shop the other day for $300, some one had bought a Cobalt sport in 08 and drove from the lot to the tire shop and had 20'' rims put on there car lol so the rims have like 500 miles on them! so I was just wondering what the best way to care for them is? I have had nothing but problems with my G5 GT wheels, the paint on the GT wheels look like it is pealing cause of a sunburn haha.
anyways, they are polished aluminum right? is there any thing special that you guys use? thanks in advance!

I use a wheel sealent every other week after a fresh wash. Once a month I also set my car on jackstands and take all 4 wheels off and clean the inside of the wheel. You'd be amazed at the buildup in there.
Clean clean clean, that's the best way to take care of any wheel. Use non-abrasive cleaners and cleaning utensils. Like Shibito said, clean the inside of the wheels too. Don't let brake dust or salt sit on the wheels for any amount of time.
alright, and thanks guy, the intense care (taking the wheels off to clean) will be a bit harder, I just lost my garage parking space =/ my dad just got a 07' Mustang GT/CS so the G5 is in the garage... lol and any special wheel sealant?
dude, I wish u were closer to! haha

I used only vinigar/water and newspaper to polish them up to a gleam, they always looked fantastic!!
check it out this is done just by polishing with newspaper(no coloured paper obv.) and vinigar & water
