Stock 16's vs. 17's ??
Hello,
Hopefully this post is in the correct spot although this is not a specific SS question.
Will purchase a new 2008 Cobalt sedan with the optional appearance package which will include the NZ0 machined 5 spoke wheels with 205/55/16 tires. I have a few questions actually. I want to replace the above stock wheels/tires eventually with the 2007 stock GM SS 17 in.wheels/tires (QBU) 205/50-17 inchers... or what appears to be the identical, standard stock 2008 "Sport" sedan wheel/tires that are the 17 in (SS) polished units.
The overall height and revs per mile seem very close with a half MPH slower speedo speed @ 60 MPH using the 17's in place of the stock 16's, (using an online tire calculator) ,so they have to be somewhat close.
Will the 17's bolt right on in place of the 16's? What is the exact offset for each wheel and centerhole measurement? If "upgraded, will I have to have the PCM or equivilant re-flashed or re-programmed at Chevy? Both are 5 lug wheels, but what is the bolt pattern measurement? I take it the lug threads/size are the same?
You think that is enough questions??? Have the be a pest, but I certainly DO NOT want to invest in these wheels and tires and come up with a surprise ( a bad one!) AFTER a major purchase like this!
Thanks for all your help on this. The more info I can get on this,,, the better!
And agin.... THANKS!!
