Just curious as to if anyone has tried these or heard anything about them. They look kinda cool.

Cool looking but I wonder about the functionality. Sadly I just installed my MPx shorty and my reception is TERRIBLE unless I am very close to or in the city but in the suburbs where I live its crap . I plan on modifying my stock antenna or purchasing an OPEL GT antenna since I do like to listen to FM here and there. If you care about FM or even AM Id find out more info.
that looks like ****... something you'd see in F&F movies.. honestly what next carbon fiber exhaust tips?
lol @ the guy who "chopped" his stocker antenna... it's a certain length for a reason dude. you're messing with it's impedance. leave it that way or get a different one. you're going to kill your reception.

ok, heres how the car antenna works. The car antenna is a particular length becaus the antenna MUST be a certain length to recieve particular frequencies. The equation for such is a log10 formula. By chopping your stock antenna, you are eliminating certain frequency ranges you were previously able to recieve. The reason you are able to recieve the ones you are is due to your reflective antenna. The antenna you physically see is 50% of the actually radio receiving device. The car body acts as the other 50% completing the antenna. By chopping it, you now have 75% of an antenna (roughly). This is probably enough to recieve common, high powered, fm frequencies, however you probably wont be receiving the entire radio band you should be.
GOOD shorty antennas, use the principle that an antenna must be a certain length, not nescessarily a certain shape. (they must be mounted longitudinally or latitudally depending on the polar signal being transmitted). The shorty antennas coil the wire acting as the antenna inside the housing, unfolded its the same length as the long one. Therefore, no signal loss, equal gain.
