tail light tint?

tail light tint?

anyone here tinted their tail light ? im trying to figure out if i have to paint them from the inside or if i need to buy something to put on it or what ever?

never done this before so any help and pics would be appreciated!

1500 grit wetsand paper. alcohol to clean the lights with. LIGHT COATS! go considerably darker than you want them to look because to get this gloss ur gonna want to buff them at least 3-5 times. let them dry for at least 2 hours before buffing. 24 hours to be safe.

notice the shine on mine vs the shine on the others. this is the difference between light coats and heavy coats.

mine shined too. but light output was too dark for me.

mine are just dark enough to show no red, but the light output is better than stock because it goes from looking black to shining red for daytime stopping. love it. took quite a bit of buffing to get them to this point though i will say.

I've driven by yours often enough to know that you did too many coats on yours ! Yours were like jet black I did two-ish coats and it looks smoked instead of black.

yeah i know haha. i did 3 coats maybe a tiny bit more. but i have smoked leds now and i like them.
