Taping a halo

Before I do this and fry a 30 dollar pair of halos...is it going to overheat and crack the ccfl rings to have aluminum foil tape all over them like so? I'm mounting them behind an E46 shroud similar to something tommyP did on a set in the retro sticky.

Thats exactly how I did it, they should be fine, they dont really get hot. Mine were fine for the whole year I had them. Still going strong last I heard. The heat from the hids is a lot more than what those halos can put out

Damn love the look behind the shroud, like said above, not much heat should be fine.

I stuck 100 MM's on the front outer ring of my E55's and theres nothing to hold them their or any way to do it without looking tacky so I lightly clear siliconed them, and after a year the bottoms were coming up and the glue had melted from the 55W heat in my Mini H1's (yes I run 55w and have for 3 years). I gotta find a new method.

I tried using fishing line before and when i tried to tighten it up, the CCFL literally exploded!

Alrighty sounds good, just wanted to make sure because those stupid ccfl's seem to break just because they want to sometimes.

Trust me...I am no stranger to exploding ccfl's.
