Wow, after seeing your car without anything with good photos and good angles, i think when i send mine in to get my stock wing shave, the trunk lock cylinder, and the RK sport put on i'm going to do the antenna too. Maybe i'll try a stubbie antenna first, but i cant stand those antennas when we have the roof mounted one.

06blackSC, thanks for the comments. Once it was off and finshed, I never looked back. It's by far the best exterior mod I have done. I'd love to ditch the antenna, but I can't see spending the money to have the side of my car repainted! Maybe if I ever have the entire car painted a custom color I will, but I doubt that will happen.

No sweat, i just talked to my friend that is doing the work and he told me he would have to do the entire quarter panel in new paint, he couldn't blend black no matter how hard he tries. I'm going to try a really short antenna like the ones on the s2000. those things are only like 3 inches tall.

I would shave my base model of its ugly golden bowtie, but I wouldn't want to decrease the value of the car. I'm just a little worried. If it weren't for that, that sucker would be gon by Saturday on my day off. Lol. Anybody think the dealership would care too much about the emblem???

Your dealer wont care, if they ask say it fell off while you were driving.

i have everything but my supercharged badge shaved on the rear and removed those little GM logos on the fenders. When i went to the dealer to get my stage re-flash two techs came up and actually said that it looked better that way.

Mine might be clean when I get it from the collision repair people. Maybe I'll do something else with the badges.

be careful when you take it off, then you could put it back on with the 3M double sided tape (found at pretty much any autobody shop)
boom problem solved

They have it posted somewhere here. Please use the search. But I removed mine on Saturday. Everythings in one piece and I don't see how I got along with it. Looks ALOT better. More than what a picture can tell you. I guess it's just one of those "must see" type deals. All I need now is a clay bar to remove some of the remaining residue. Can't really tell unless you're close and are looking for something.

I just got my car back from Crown Chevrolet in Lawrence. There is no badging on the trunk. It looks great. Now I just need to find a cheap but good place to get the lock shaved.

I would rather see your car with a RK sport lip kit, at least Eibach Prokit if not sportlines, and shave the attenna. you could shave the lock too.

I dont really care for the lip kit, I would rather do a complete 2.4 SS front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper. Then a carbon fiber hood and trunk. Those things can be reversed, shaving the antenna you cant. I would like to do it but its a lease for 4 years. As far as springs, i thought about it, but i would want to upgrade the struts when i install some springs. Plus I owe $1,200 for college, so everything is on hold.

I see your point. If your not keeping it then why do it. throwing money away and potential for the lease company to get sticky with you. My car is a lease but I keep my bills for insurance reasons and plan to buy out the car at the end of the lease.

I like your rationale. I do like the RK sport lip kit but there is absolutely nothing wrong with gettting the factory SS body kit.

Well the way im thinking, the car is mine for the next 4 years, so I should make it the way i want it to, then either buy it out at the end or switch it all back to stock, trade the car in, and sell the aftermarket parts I put on. Anyways back to topic i guess.

My car came without a spoiler and even better, all it says is Cobalt on the back. No LS or nothing. Then with the bowtie gone it looks even better. I agree with Rolover360 with the SS kit, only I would put a different rear bumper on. I know which one I want but can't remember the name for anything right now.
