Tjin Edition trunks?? Interest?
Hey guys I've been out of town and haven't been able to jump on the boards much. I've been trying and I haven't been able to get much out of Neil yet, I know he's busy with his projects right now. I'm going to forward te link to him again right now to see If I can get this thing up and going.
I made the post because Neil asked me to so I hope this goes through. I'll do what I can!

all c/f hoods will do that over time, they come in gel coat not clear coat. i had mine buffed/cleared/half painted and it looks brand new still, whereas before the clear coat it would get cloudy every 3-4 months and have to get buffed out
if you have the clear coat buffed allthe time its going to fade like a mother f*cker. i just met a guy with an evo at a meet that was asking about re-doing his hood. turns out the cars been detailed 3-4 times a year. the problem is buffing the hood is going to cause the gel-coat or so called "clear" they put on the hoods to be substantially cut down and they will look like ****.
my recommendation is as soon as you get the carbon fiber parts you should immediately take them to a body shop and have them cleared over with a high solids clear.

yeah i had my hood cleared finally and if i had to do it again i would do it before i got it put on.
and good news to hear that the trunk is still going to happen although i will hold out until i see the finished product. i make 800 a week take home with only 1000 in bills a month so whatever the price shouldnt be a problem to me.

you mean a carbon fiber hood? the paint job all depends on how straight you want it to look. the problem with carbon fiber is its just like fiberglass and wavy. it needs to be primed blocked and chances are primer again to make it straight. also the primer helps from the carbon fiber twill shrinking in the future. no primer or sealer usually means that the twill will eventually shrink and up and you will see the twill outline through the paint. in all honesty if it was me doing your paint work i would say about 350-400 to do it the right way. every areas body shops are different as far as labor rates go.
Well I told Neil I really wanna have my car ready for CED so, I think that's the latest were plaining on have mine ready. The stickers will be changed and updated with new sponsers as well as new wheels and hood I'm thinking as well.
Hell if hed post up here or something and offer some kind of starting price I bet this thread would get going!
Hell if I knew the starting price I might even be willing to thrown down a deposit right now.
