Some like it for the looks and appearance. And to say 'hey. i got a CF trunk". Personally I voted for CF. I think it would look baller status on my ride.

Personal opinion go with a stronger trunk, not a more durable trunk. When it comes to upgrading a vehicle exterior leave the fiber glass for the bumpers and sides. Don't get me wrong, Duraflex is a strong material upgrade but nothing beats polyurethane and carbon fiber parts. Harder, stronger and to some it may not even matter but also less weight. Not to mention its a great look in my opinion, on certain colored cars. Either way, keep voting!

It'll end up costing more in the long run than the CF one.... I just dunno if you're not thinking or don't care.
the people who want duraflex don't like the CF look..
thats why they want duraflex.. so sure we have to paint it..
but then examine if they bought a CF trunk.. they could end up spending close to $1,000 on a trunk... cuz they would have to paint that too..
for people like me.. CF looks horrible on a black car.. not enough contrast.. thats why we want duraflex

and if you look at the breakdown of Cobalt SS' sold, especially Turbo models, there's an overwhelming number of Black SS' sold, mine included. Its not even close. There's a breakdown sheet somewhere here on the forum, maybe someone can post it? Like 40% of all SSTC's are black or something

Can someone post pics of a black car (Cobalt) with carbon fiber trunk please?

^^ I love both of you. Little while ago I got flamed on here for even suggesting the idea of painting a CF trunk. Excuse me for not being a god damn ricer with one piece of "carbon fiber" on an econobox. /rant

And I remember that breakdown... 46% of 08-09 LNF coupes are black. That is absurd. Silver is second, not even close... 17%.

I agree CF would look great on your car because its white and i seen it on BYT's car with no complaints but any other color it doesn't look right imho. Like stated above its gonna cost a extra $200 to have the CF painted to match.

I really think they should make both cause i'm pretty sure they would make money back when there is a millon cobalts that have been sold.

CF. because i have a feeling a lot of CSS.net members do not understand the price of paint and labour for a duraflex trunk.

Take away the price tag, idk why it was even put up since its not a def answer on prices. Then what would you pick?

Without price you are unable to really figure out what would work for your budget. People who get a Duraflex and paint it will end paying the same price as a Carbon Fiber not painted, if not a little more depending on what the body shop charges. I hardly doubt anyone is going to keep the Duraflex primered black lol.

well then duh.. every1 is gonna pick the better quality trunk.. but every1 is basing the decision off of a trunk that not only is "rice" but costs a little extra... Then you have people who say.. "weee its lighter and saves weight." Ok 20 lbs... BFD..
somebody did the math on here when this car first came out i believe.. its like for every 100 LBs you take out of the car.. you save yourself .10 seconds in the 1/4
so with this logic.. you're gonna save yourself .020 seconds in 1/4... which is literally nothing unless your cobalt is an NHRA top fuel dragster...
if i had the money, sure I'd go for a quality and such... but 1 its a cobalt and 2 this is a trunk.. not gonna drop a G on a trunk sorry
&&&
CF looks terrible on black.. with an overwhelming % of black cars on here.. we r the majority.. sorry bout it

um when does CF become Rice? CF can go good with any color and your basing your opinions about everyone else from your taste in your car..your going to spend close to a G on this trunk whether duraflex or not...sorry.

I changed my mind. I was unaware of what Duraflex actually was...then I watched this video:

YouTube - Duraflex Promotional Video

I'd think CF would be the only option as it's actually rigid enough to BE a trunk lid.

PS: Chick in that video is tasty

You guys, bumpers are thin, and meant to flex LOL. the trunk will be fairly rigid, with support underneath.

Either way, i still vote for CF.
