Do most understand this.
Lets say a CF trunk costs 600 dollars (just a number)
Duraflex for the argument will cost 400 dollars
Shipping on both an extra 100 dollars
Paint, Labour on your trunk will be around the 400+ dollar mark.
So now your spending almost 1,000 dollars for a trunk. Instead of the 600 dollars for the CF trunk.
Why not get the CF trunk and paint it if you don't like the look?
From a business aspect, Knowing how the trends are currently and knowing that the cobalt community typically brings a "cheaper" market. I would be very hessitant mass producing a part that will cost 1000+ dollars compared to a more "trendy" alternative for 600 dollars. Because i am sad to say, and extra 400 dollars for something of "lesser" quality would discourage most members on here from purchasing it.

I'm not buying a carbon trunk and not have a carbon hood ....looks ugly IMO ..so I buy a cf rink 700 bucks shipped ..then another 800 for the hood I would want......that's 1500 ......
I would like to know the answer to why not both options...the molds are the same?

False statement. its not that bad if its a close fit and not totally off. i had to mess with many duraflex body kits and they werent too bad. im sure itll be a PITA if it was off by alot tho. just saying.

Car and truck body kits & parts for mx3, s10, SUV, civic, neon, focus, etc.
499 from ED for a OEM CF trunk......
now do the math
This is going to require more work then just getting a molding from a oem trunk so its going to be more than 499

well that still doesnt help his case. I think ED knows how much they sell an oem style trunk for. And if they do (which they should) then the estimates on the new trunk probably had taken that into consideration. Also, if they are purchasing and reselling oem style trunks, they would probably be more expensive than a trunk they manufacture themselves. I dont know what the price will be and I am not gonna argue about it. However, I am just gonna go by what the OP said.
