Took off the side moldings but it left a mark...

I have a white Cobalt and took off the side moldings.
I used fishing line then carefully took off the rest of the sticky crap under it with some same kind of stuck as GooGone or whatever.
There is no scratch or other kind of damage to the paint but when looking closely, I can see a kind of more yellow than white mark where my molding were...

I know it's not the stuff because the marks are only where the moldings were...

I took off the back emblems the same way without any issue or mark...

Now, what to do... only wax, compound or should I but them back (will have to get new one or make those repainted) or make it paint, the sides (not really an option)... Is this part of the paint finished?

Thanks in advance guys!

Oh yeah? I'll go and get this product. WHat exactly is it? Wax?
I don't think pics will show it... best test I did to confirm it is there was putting water on it; I could see the water stopping at the line (that's the part when I was on panic as bit, lol).

What this you use to rub it?
Is it really 100% gone now on your car?

NU finish is just a wax...

Get yourself a nice claybar kit, do that; then polish, & wax, after that it should be all gone. + you'll have one clean ass white balt

mine was like that at first too... the adhesive is very strong, and even though it may LOOK like you got it all off, there's probably still some residue on the car. give it a really good wash, wax her up, should be gone.

I'd use the Meguiers 3 step products and that should do it. I'm not a fan of the clay bar.

my white Sunfire had a yellow hue to it in the molding area for about 3 months, then it either went away or I stopped noticing it. I think eventually all the residue works its way out, and the sun will naturally help turn the yellow a little lighter(more towards white)

I have a white balt too. I just took the molding off. Hard as hell. Anyways... looks like turtle wax polishing compound with a lot of elbow grease is working fine.

Try using goo gone on there. I had to use that when i removed the mouldings from my Z24. After using it it looked alot better but like everyone has said it takes a little while for it to completely go away. Probably about a month or so after removing them you couldnt tell i had taken them off

plastic pieces down the side of each door. suppose to protect the paint from other doors...like in a parking lot. Remove them to make you car look "cleaner".

waste of time. just take a high speed buffer to it lightly. then wax it. your local detail shop would do it for $20 i bet.

i've actually considered doing the same thing, taking off the side molding. Although my cobalt is yellow, under the molding is it going to be yellow? thanks

no, it's paint... IF you see a mark, compound/wax will for sure take it off.
In my case... time, few washed and one wax did it.
In other posts, it's perfectly clean under it.

DOn't worry, no primer... this part is glued after car paint...
